Grade 2 Revision Live Stream CPD Course - SOLD OUT

A half-day practical course in which participating teachers will be able to review and build on their existing knowledge and understanding of the Grade 2 syllabus exercises. This course is recommended for those who have completed the Introduction to Grades 1-3 Teachers’ Course and want to revisit key aspects.

Aims

The aims of this activity are to:

• Provide an overview of syllabus exercises allowing teachers to refresh and expand their existing knowledge in relation to the syllabus content,
• Exemplify the required movements as notated in the publication, The Foundations of Classical Ballet Technique,
• Clarify the process, methodology, music and development of the vocabulary and choreography found in the syllabus, and
• Provide an opportunity for teachers to understand the Mark scheme and how these apply to the preparation of students for assessment: Examinations, Class Awards and Solo Performance Awards where appropriate.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of the activity, you will have in depth knowledge and understanding of:

• The development of the vocabulary, choreography and music found in the syllabus,
• The vocabulary used in Grade 2 in relation to the publication, The Foundations of Classical Ballet Technique,
• The methodology and processes of teaching Grade 2, and
• The Mark scheme and how it applies to the preparation of students for assessment: Examinations, Class Awards and Solo Performance Awards.

Platform

This activity will be hosted on Zoom. You will be sent details of how to join the activity within five working days prior to the start date. This course will not be recorded. If you are booking outside of the UK, please check your time zone against BST (British Summer Time).

You will require the following resources:

• A computer/laptop/tablet with internet connection, a camera and microphone
• Speakers

Please ensure you have space to move in order to actively participate in the course.

Recommended Preparation

Participants should have knowledge of the exercises of the RAD Grade 2 syllabus, and knowledge and understanding of the Specifications relating to Grades 1-3.

Tutor

Ruth Henry BA Hons LRAD ARAD RTS

Ruth graduated from the BA (Hons) in Ballet Education degree course, and attained the Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Dance (LRAD). She currently works as a freelance ballet teacher in London, UK and the surrounding areas, and tutors on numerous RAD teacher training programmes, including the LRAD. Ruth joined the panel of RAD examiners in December 2021.
